About the position

The Quality Data Analyst - Cardiovascular position at Grossmont Hospital is a full-time role responsible for coordinating data collection and stratification from various automated systems throughout the hospital, particularly within the surgical and procedural departments. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate data abstraction, management, and reporting, which are essential for process improvement, quality outcomes review, and compliance with regulatory agencies. The analyst will support the Quality Assessment Department by organizing and communicating data effectively to meet the needs of various stakeholders. In this position, the Quality Data Analyst will act as a consultant, meeting regularly with customers to understand their data collection needs and creating reports that facilitate data analysis. These reports must be functional and presented in a manner that allows for easy interpretation and conclusion drawing. The analyst will also be responsible for database management, ensuring that current systems are updated and that data integrity is maintained as new applications are introduced. This includes communicating technical requirements for automated reports and serving as a primary consultant for quality assessment data in surgical and procedural departments. The role involves conducting data abstraction that does not require clinical judgment and maintaining computerized records and reports. The analyst may assist leadership in monitoring outcomes for the department and participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, the analyst will prepare reports and documents for administration regarding surgical and procedural operations and will be the primary contact for the cardiovascular PACS image sharing. The position requires participation in departmental meetings and ongoing training to maintain and improve technical skills and competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate data collection and stratification from various computer automated systems throughout the hospital.
  • Ensure accurate data abstraction, management, and reporting for process improvement and quality outcomes review.
  • Support the Quality Assessment Department by organizing and communicating data effectively.
  • Act as a consultant to meet data collection needs of all customers served.
  • Create functional reports to support data analysis and facilitate interpretation.
  • Manage and update current systems to maintain data integrity as new applications are introduced.
  • Communicate technical requirements for establishing automated reports.
  • Monitor quality assessment data for surgical and procedural departments to ensure consistency and avoid duplication.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of databases used by the surgical and procedural department.

  • Participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives as a knowledgeable team member.
  • Prepare reports and documents for administration on surgical and procedural operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 Year experience working with data, reporting, data analysis, and/or database management.
  • Experience in statistics and performance improvement concepts.
  • Familiarity with organizations relevant to the department.
  • 1 Year previous patient experience.
