About the position

The Quality Department Lead at SPR Packaging is responsible for overseeing quality control processes, ensuring the quality of materials and finished products, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency. This role involves supervising quality control technicians, monitoring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing technical assistance to customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality control technicians in a laboratory setting and production floor by providing guidance and support.
• Supervise quality checks and test examinations of all materials and finished products.
• Establish and monitor production quality standards.
• Develop production tracking and quality control procedures.
• Provide technical assistance to customers.
• Propose improvements to the quality control and production processes.
• Communicate issues to quality and production management.
• Propose and supervise preventive and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AIB, GMP, HAACP, FDA, TCEQ, FSSC and other regulatory authorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisor role.
• Experience managing a small group of individuals.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
