About the position

The Quality Director at Raycap will lead and organize quality resources across the company's manufacturing facilities in Charleston, SC, and Kearny, NJ. This role involves overseeing and implementing quality assurance strategies, managing processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires a strong leader with experience in quality management systems and a commitment to continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities, including incoming material inspection, in-process inspection, and final product inspection.
  • Lead the quality control team to ensure product quality and consistency throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA, CE, or other applicable standards.
  • Manage supplier quality performance, conduct supplier audits, and implement supplier improvement programs.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing quality assurance team.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis techniques to monitor key quality metrics.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their quality expectations and address any quality concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: ISO 9001 - Quality Management Systems; ISO 18001 - Environmental Management Systems; ISO 45001 - Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
