About the position
The Quality Engineer II position at Mercury Systems offers an opportunity to contribute to the quality organization of a leading supplier of micro-electronic assemblies. The role involves developing and monitoring internal operating procedures, ensuring compliance with quality management system requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and re-define internal operating procedures by means of regular internal process audits to uphold QMS Requirements to AS9100:D
- Develop and maintain visible Quality KPIs and associated actions (FPY, RTY, DPPM, etc.)
- Monitor and drive COPQ initiatives (Scrap reduction, escapes, RMA)
- Hold regular MRB activities with follow-up status and actions
- Address production-related Quality issues as they arise
- Interact daily with Engineering and Production to monitor production yields and drive improvement actions
- Assist with ESD and FOD Programs as necessary
- Develop Manufacturing Quality Plans based on customer SOW
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Engineering preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or inspection
- Versed in ISO / AS Industry standards
- Space Industry experience is considered an asset
- Familiar with LEAN/6S Methodology
- RCCA knowledge
- Highly organized and motivated with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to multi-task and follow-up consistently
- Strong decision-making abilities
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other metric-building tools (Pareto, Data analysis, Trends)
- Knowledge of SMT componentry considered an asset
- IPC-610 preferred
