About the position

The Quality Engineer at AriensCo is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet all specifications and requirements. This role involves suggesting, implementing, and maintaining effective practices throughout the manufacturing environment, as well as responding quickly to any out-of-specification conditions. The Quality Engineer will actively participate in establishing and managing quality initiatives, collaborating with various departments to enhance product quality and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers' quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design.
  • Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances to support cost-effective production.
  • Provide Quality Engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce company commitment to quality improvement efforts.
  • Determine when process capability studies should be performed on existing processes, review and analyze results, and recommend changes based on findings.
  • Participate and coordinate with other departments in product Quality planning activities.
  • Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
  • Drive continuous improvement and elimination of waste using KPI metrics.
  • Responsible and accountable for the performance of the Quality team/group.
  • Define and help resolve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations and/or Technical discipline required.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with certified quality management system (e.g. TS 16949, ISO).
  • Technical knowledge of steel fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Project management experience.
  • Capable of reviewing, understanding, and critiquing Engineering drawings.
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Firsthand experience in the creation of Control Plans and FMEA records.
  • Solid understanding of the value of process auditing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Kaizen Events and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with various quality tools and techniques.
