About the position

The Quality Engineer (QE) at World Wide Technology (WWT) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of manufacturing processes. This position is primarily focused on collaborating with internal teams to drive process standardization, eliminate waste, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and foster continual performance improvement. The QE will work closely with the Supply Chain Cross Functional Operations Teams, ensuring that all processes align with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. The role requires a deep understanding of quality principles and the ability to apply and teach these concepts effectively in a diverse and challenging work environment. Reporting to a Quality Manager, the QE is essential to WWT's mission of becoming the leading technology solutions provider globally. In this role, the Quality Engineer will establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor in quality matters. They will support the pre-launch phase of various programs or projects, ensuring that all essential customer requirements are documented and controlled. The QE will also be responsible for developing and managing effective Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans, focusing on prevention, early detection, and inspection processes. Additionally, the role involves collecting, measuring, and analyzing complex data to identify opportunities for continual improvement in internal performance metrics and key performance indicators, ensuring business excellence. The Quality Engineer will actively participate in internal, external, or customer audits and will initiate and facilitate Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) meetings to drive containment, root cause analysis, and effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence within WWT's manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes working relationships with stakeholders and builds rapport to become a trusted advisor.
  • Support the pre-launch phase of the programs or projects to ensure all the essential customer requirements are documented and controlled.
  • Develop and manage an effective PFMEA and Control Plan that focuses on prevention, early detection, and in-process or post-work inspection for designated business processes.
  • Collect, measure, and analyze complex data to identify continual improvement opportunities for internal performance metrics as well as key performance indicators to ensure business excellence.
  • Support and participate in internal, external or customer audits.
  • Initiate and facilitate CAPA meetings (Corrective Action / Preventive Action) to drive Containment, Root Cause, and effective Corrective Actions to mitigate recurrence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree within Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience supporting a Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Experience supporting a QMS in accordance with the latest ISO 9001 standard.
  • Experience in process design using in-process controls and effective sampling plans.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, set priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to use Advance Quality tools for evidence-based decisions making.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead/mentor, influence, collaborate, and build relationships with others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
