About the position

The Quality Engineer will lead the inspection of products throughout various production phases to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role involves overseeing quality assurance operations, managing laboratory activities, and implementing quality programs to enhance product reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and leads quality assurance organization program.
  • Oversees day to day operations of the quality assurance laboratory.
  • Responsible for quality of finished product per specification, identifying and correcting in-process production issues as needed.
  • Defines and implements inspection plans for raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.
  • Oversees inspection of products returned to the plant.
  • Leads investigations into customer complaints, raw material non-conformances, and internal non-conformities, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensures reliability and conformity of quality assurance laboratory instruments to calibration requirements.
  • Leads routine surveillance audits and represents the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Oversees shelf-life testing of finished products.
  • Manages quality assurance laboratory supply inventory and obtains new equipment quotes as needed.
  • Develops, implements, and updates quality assurance laboratory documentation.
  • Develops and tracks departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Quality Metrics.
  • Participates in the development of the annual department budget.
  • Encourages teamwork and good communication with the Production Department.
  • Supports R&D, Technical, Codes & Approvals, Production, and Supply Chain Initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing or Quality Assurance/Control, preferably in the CASE industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel); statistical software experience preferred.
  • Basic mathematical, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Interest in and experience with continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple work assignments while achieving high throughput and meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to accept limited evening and weekend work to support all shifts.
