About the position

The Quality Engineer at Accuray plays a crucial role in the Measurement & Analysis Group (MAG), focusing on the measurement and monitoring of product and process quality. This position involves investigating quality issues and coordinating improvement initiatives, utilizing expertise in data analysis to identify trends and measure the effectiveness of solutions. The engineer will contribute to enhancing the quality of radiotherapy systems that directly impact cancer treatment and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly measures and prepares reports for a wide array of product performance and customer satisfaction KPIs.
  • Measures and monitors the reliability of product hardware and software.
  • Develops and maintains product performance dashboards using inputs from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Uses statistical techniques to analyze observed trends, estimate effectiveness of proposed solutions, and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Uses root cause analysis and quality principles to investigate identified issues.
  • Assists cross-functionally in developing new metrics in customer satisfaction, product performance, and process performance.
  • Develops and maintains key data infrastructure and leads cross-functional efforts to improve data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, data analytics, or related field of study.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong statistics knowledge and data analysis skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and aptitude for new software.
  • Experience using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ISO 13485-certified quality management systems in medical device companies.
  • Experience in developing operational dashboards and familiarity with database tools and Power BI, Minitab Connect, or comparable visualization tools.
  • Experience with statistical and reliability analysis tools, e.g. Minitab Statistics, ReliaSoft Weibull++.
