About the position

The Quality Engineer at Becton Dickinson and Company is responsible for developing, supervising, and improving quality inspections to ensure quality control during the manufacturing process. This role involves monitoring processes, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The engineer will also coordinate with various departments to establish controls and support process validation and audits, while leading efforts to resolve product and process issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and supervise quality inspections to ensure quality control during manufacturing.
  • Monitor processes and implement corrective action plans for product improvement.
  • Document activities and maintain operating procedures for quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with other departments to establish controls and process capabilities.
  • Support process validation, internal and external audits, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze and resolve process/product issues, assuming a leadership role.
  • Develop and improve test methods for inspection, including Test Method Validation.
  • Monitor customer complaints and trends, responding with corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety rules and promote plant safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with four years of related work experience, or a Master's degree with two years of related work experience.
  • Experience with quality engineering tools such as sampling plans and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical and risk assessment techniques.
  • Experience in test method development and validation, equipment qualifications, and process validation.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Experience in creating and reviewing test protocols and reports.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 and ISO 14971.
