About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join ifm's collaborative quality team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to join our team. The Quality Engineer will work closely with Product Development and Manufacturing team members to create and maintain Quality Plans to ensure successful product launches that meet customer's cost, quality, delivery requirements. ifm has a great culture that grants each individual tremendous responsibility and flexibility while respecting a very healthy work/life balance. This position resides in ifm prover USA, which is our technical center in Malvern, PA. Our site designs and manufactures temperature and flow sensor products for the worldwide market.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality planning into product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure that new or modified parts meet required specifications before full-scale production.
  • Work with suppliers to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive improvements.
  • Develop and implement incoming inspection criteria for raw materials, components, and finished products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years experience in quality, supplier management or manufacturing support role.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), 8-D and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards (ISO 9001).
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to acquire new skills and grow with the company.
