About the position

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO9000 and IATF standards while implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance production processes. This role involves the completion and submission of PPAP documentation, conducting assurance inspections, and supporting the quality readiness and implementation of new projects. The Quality Engineer will also coordinate process issues related to rubber compounds and adhesive coatings, as well as develop and train staff on quality procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with ISO9000 and IATF standards.
• Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance production.
• Complete and submit PPAP documentation.
• Conduct assurance inspections, measurements, and testing for applicable product lines.
• Support quality readiness and implementation of new projects.
• Coordinate process issues related to rubber compounds and adhesive coatings.
• Develop, implement, and train in quality procedures and work instructions.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Skilled in Automotive Corrective Actions/Root Cause Analysis using quality techniques (5Y, 8D, Fishbone).
• Understanding of PPAP documentation processing.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in supplier problem-solving management.
• Strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with North American Automotive companies from a Quality standpoint (Ford, Stellantis, GM, etc.).
• B.S or A.S level education (open to no education with 7+ years of relevant experience).
• 10+ years of Quality Engineer experience within the Automotive industry.
• Experience with rubber or plastic molding.
• IATF 16949 auditing experience.
• Warranty analysis and reporting experience.
