About the position

The Quality Engineer at Indium Corporation is responsible for implementing quality engineering activities to ensure that all products meet customer requirements. This role involves collaborating with various teams to reduce process variation, document procedures according to quality standards, and support quality testing and product validations. The position aims to enhance the quality management system and contribute to the company's growth and values.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Quality Engineering activities to support quality objectives and QMS processes according to documented procedures.
  • Partner with technical support engineers, manufacturing engineers, and operations staff to meet quality objectives.
  • Reduce process variation using DOE and data analysis methods, implementing data-driven corrective actions.
  • Prepare and install process FMEA's and control plans based on findings from designed experiments.
  • Prepare corrective actions using customer specified or 8D methodologies.
  • Document procedures per ISO9001, IATF16949, and other relevant quality standards.
  • Develop and prepare Production Part Approval Process per customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Support company facilities with quality testing, planning processes, and product validations.
  • Study, recommend, and modify manufacturing processes to reduce operating expenses and improve yields.
  • Operate computer programs and statistical software to analyze data and report results.
  • Investigate, identify, recommend, install, and maintain quality test equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with other quality department staff and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-based technical discipline.
  • 2 years work experience in a technical position preferred.
  • Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • ASQ Quality Engineer or Advanced Six Sigma Certification and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of DOE, SPC, and data analysis.
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement testing methods with an emphasis on documenting detailed procedures.
  • Ability to support internal and external customers regarding requests for technical assistance, quality inquiries, and product testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete a wide variety of assignments in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to achieve objectives through participation in functional or cross-functional work teams.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASQ Quality Engineer or Advanced Six Sigma Certification and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
