About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program in Clearfield, Utah. This role involves ensuring quality standards are met by acting as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams, interpreting contract requirements, and leading efforts to resolve quality issues. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national security through innovative space technologies.

Requirements

• Root Cause Analysis experience or training.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work overtime and odd shifts as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with solid rocket motor, nozzle and igniter manufacturing processes.
• Experience performing quality management systems audits.
• Non-Destructive Test experience.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections.
• Experience interacting with external customers.
• SAP/ERP experience.
• Green Belt training/certification or greater.
• ASQ CQE certification.
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and reporting quality metrics.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering requirements including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with AS9100.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for suppliers and quality issues.
• Engage with internal suppliers, product centers, and subcontractors/suppliers.
• Ensure proper flow-down of quality requirements and tailor them to individual suppliers.
• Lead efforts to resolve issues with conflicting requirements.
• Participate on the material review board and perform surveillance of manufacturing processes.
• Verify effective corrective actions to resolve root causes of discrepancies.
• Create and maintain Quality Inspection Instructions and identify quality deficiencies.
• Follow up on corrective actions and generate quality metrics.
