About the position

The Quality Engineer at Surge Staffing is responsible for ensuring that quality requirements are met for assigned products and programs. This role involves reviewing design and manufacturing documentation, supporting operations and engineering teams, and participating in quality trend analysis and defect-reduction initiatives. The engineer will also interact with various functional groups to maintain compliance with quality systems and promote a productive working environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality requirements are met on assigned products and programs.
• Review design, manufacturing, test, and supplier documentation for compliance.
• Support operations by providing visual aids and inspection analyses.
• Assist in making accept or reject decisions during inspections.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering and Customer Service on hardware analysis.
• Review quality trends and participate in defect-reduction programs.
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in Material Review Board actions.
• Interact with various functional groups on quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems during production processes.
• Report quality problems or trends in assigned areas.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
• Maintain effective communication with the Group Leader regarding plant operations.
• Promote a productive working environment and positive attitudes.
• Follow safety rules and ensure OSHA compliance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 12 to 18 months of relevant experience in quality engineering or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with quality management systems and standards.
• Familiarity with inspection and testing procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
