About the position

The Technician, Quality 2 position involves inspecting parts and components or production assemblies through electrical, visual, and mechanical examination to ensure conformance to specifications. The role requires completing necessary inspection records and may involve assisting Quality Engineers with First Article Inspections, paperwork, returned goods disposition, and issuing Corrective Action Requests. The Inspector will utilize blueprints, precision mechanical measuring devices, temperature sensing devices, and electrical test equipment to perform inspections proficiently. The position requires the ability to read blueprints and follow ISO 9001 and AS 9100 work instructions while maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Inspector may also be required to train other employees and assist in the orientation of new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts and components or assemblies in production for conformance to specifications.
  • Use blueprints and precision measuring devices for inspections.
  • Perform electrical tests according to inspection procedures and work instructions.
  • Record inspection data and generate inspection documents.
  • Make recommendations for corrective actions based on inspection results.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Assist co-workers to meet work unit goals.
  • Seek continuous process improvement.
  • Train other employees and assist in orientation of new hires.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Electronics and mechanical vocational training desirable.
  • Experience in a quality or technical related position is a plus.
  • Ability to make inspection decisions using blueprints and inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools and inspection equipment for testing electrical components.
  • Proficiency in geometric tolerancing and statistical process control is a plus.
  • Must pass J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certification.
  • May require certification to IPC-A-620.
