The QA High Jewelry Inspector and Vault Auditor at David Yurman plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our high jewelry and one-of-a-kind product lines. This position is responsible for leading the initial inspection process, which includes evaluating merchandise, documenting findings, analyzing results, and effectively communicating these evaluations. The inspector will perform XRF analysis as needed and conduct scans of diamonds to ensure they meet our high standards. Regular audits of finished goods from current production will also be a key responsibility, maintaining a detailed log of audited items and their results. In addition to inspection duties, the QA Inspector will assist in communicating audit findings to contractors and suppliers, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly. The role requires research and resolution of special projects related to specific product and process defects, necessitating close collaboration with various teams including Repairs, Returns, Product Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Inventory. The inspector will also be tasked with creating high jewelry inspection guidelines and training documents, participating in product development tests, and providing feedback and approvals as necessary. This position demands a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage both long-term and short-term projects effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and written communication skills, be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and have experience working as part of a team. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires splitting the week between our New York City and Lyndhurst, NJ locations.
