About the position

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for evaluating and dispositioning materials for use in manufacturing, ensuring that all materials meet quality standards. This role involves interfacing with assembly operations to address part quality and workmanship issues, and it requires a keen attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review supplied documentation for accuracy and file appropriately.
  • Inspect material using calibrated equipment, drawings, and specifications.
  • Verify the authenticity of critically controlled components.
  • Work with engineering to obtain necessary inspection documentation.
  • Create and maintain accurate incoming inspection records in ERP systems.
  • Inspect suspected nonconforming material in process and segregate it accordingly.
  • Document nonconforming material details and execute Material Review Board dispositions.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain organized inspection methods and record keeping.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and use inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Experience working in an ERP environment (Intuitive, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Training in Lean manufacturing principles is desired.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
