About the position

Klein Tools is a dynamic, fast-paced and results-driven company dedicated to launching hundreds of innovative products each year. The Quality Inspector I position is crucial in ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and standards. This role involves performing moderately complex dimensional inspections of standard parts, units, or materials to ensure conformance with specifications utilizing various measuring and testing equipment. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for conducting quality inspections for incoming materials, in-process inspections, and final inspections. The shift for this position is modified 1st shift, running from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. In this role, the Quality Inspector I will perform process audits according to defined control plans and will need to react promptly to any non-conformances identified during inspections. The inspector will utilize various gauging devices to measure, inspect, and test products to ensure they conform to engineering drawing specifications and other material or finished goods standards. Documentation of inspection results is a key responsibility, which will be done using quality software, Excel, or SharePoint. The inspector will also analyze inspection results in collaboration with product stakeholders and follow non-conformance procedures for product containment and disposition. Participation in problem-solving teams is expected, as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work area in compliance with established 6S standards. The Quality Inspector I may also be required to perform other duties as necessary within the nature and level of work, contributing to the overall quality assurance process at Klein Tools.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience are required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and quality control software.
  • Excellent time-management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions per work instructions and documents.
  • Ability to communicate with team members through verbal and written form.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills and use/test measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges, Rockwell hardness tester, optical comparator and templates, torque testing machine, gauge pins and blocks, and metallurgical equipment such as wet saws, grinders, and sample mounting equipment.
