The Quality Inspector position at Taylor Corporation involves ensuring that final work products meet production standards through detailed inspections and adherence to specifications. This role is crucial in maintaining quality control within the production environment, requiring attention to detail and effective communication with operators and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that final work products meet production standards using written instructions.
  • Inspect materials and products for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments.
  • Examine materials by confirming required specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests.
  • Identify and process products for re-work, completing documentation to confirm re-work.
  • Explain discrepancies to operators and supervisors regarding product instructions.
  • Walk around to different machines to verify job accuracy.
  • Cross-train in different departments to develop skills in postal, shipping, and hand table operations.
  • Report quality concerns to senior management immediately.
  • Ensure that outgoing items are 100% accurate.
  • Input data into the production database.
  • Learn about the production process and the role of Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a production environment.
  • Detail-oriented with basic measuring skills.
  • Ability to read a ruler and other measurement devices.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills including opening, saving, printing files, and entering data.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on production schedule.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Printing experience in a fast-paced high production environment.
  • 1+ years of quality experience.
