About the position

Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Quality Inspector IV to join our organization. In this role, the individual will be responsible for supporting the inspection of both supplier material and complex machined parts manufactured within the Milford facility. Specifically, the individual will be using a variety of bench and hand inspection tools along with manual and programmable Inspection equipment. In addition, the individual would be responsible for running and programming CMM equipment to perform automated inspections. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Inspector to gain experience within a global quality organization.

Responsibilities

  • Use measuring instruments, engineering drawings, procedures, workmanship standards, to perform inspection of parts and assemblies.
  • Maintain inspection records and compile results of all inspections for internal feedback reporting system (SAP/Trackwise).
  • Operate and program automated inspection equipment, specifically programmable vision systems and CMMs.
  • Support initiatives within Milford to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of inspection activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience inspecting parts and product.
  • Proficient using various gauges such as micrometers and verniers, height, plug, bore, thread and ring, and other standard measuring devices.
  • Experience using and programming automated vision inspection, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), profilometers, and other such measuring devices specifically Calypso.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical drawings and tolerancing methodology.
  • Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerance - GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Vocational trades school, high school diploma, or equivalent education required.
