About the position

The Quality Inspector (NDT) at Sonaca North America is responsible for performing inspection functions on assembled parts to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role involves inspecting products at various production stages, documenting findings, and collaborating with production personnel to establish inspection criteria. The inspector will also handle customer-supplied products, maintain quality standards, and participate in problem-solving teams as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection functions of assembled parts to validate processes.
  • Document inspection findings and maintain required documentation for compliance.
  • Assist production personnel in establishing and documenting inspection criteria.
  • Enter data into the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and recording data.
  • Document Nonconforming Material per the Quality System Requirements.
  • Identify parts deficiencies and help prevent further recurrences.
  • Determine product acceptability according to work order and customer requirements.
  • Handle 'stop the job' authority at any stage of the process.
  • Perform sampling inspection and Adhesion Testing requirements.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the inspection areas.
  • Properly use calibrated thickness masters, shims, and certified master materials samples.
  • Verify job details by matching actual parts with work orders and specifications.
  • Maintain Sonaca North America's quality standards to meet customer expectations.
  • Access applicable Prime customer specification requirements on SharePoint.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Interact professionally with co-workers and vendors, maintaining good relations.
  • Follow all safety requirements and enforce compliance.
  • Work overtime, including weekends, on short notice as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Inspection Lead.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend American English.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawings and sketches.
  • Good working knowledge of internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of processes in the chemical processing area.
  • Exhibit good communication skills with inspection personnel and operators.
  • Flexibility and self-driven attitude.
  • Proficient in using the Work Order Tracking Program and Quality System on SharePoint.
  • Professionalism when dealing with subordinates and superiors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems using problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
