About the position

The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in the Quality team, ensuring compliance with quality requirements as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant standards such as AS9100D:2016 and ISO 9001:2015. This position involves performing inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process to confirm that products meet specified requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection to ensure compliance with specified requirements at the receiving, in-process, and final stages of the process.
  • Read instructions, drawings, specifications or sample parts/gauges to determine compliance of dimensions and tolerances of finished work.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection on parts to confirm conformity to drawing and other routing instructions.
  • Ensure applicable documentation is complete, including revision status, router sign off, test reports, and computer data entry.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as dial and vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, and go/nogo gauges.
  • Retrieve information from computerized manufacturing software, including bills of material, specifications, procedures, and drawings.
  • Enter, retrieve, and review data from the Quality Department online databases to maintain the QMS and develop process improvements.
  • Understand and comply with WCC policies, procedures, and specifications related to Safety and Quality.
  • Maintain a clean work area and proper storage of chemicals, cleaning agents, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Pass visual acuity test and communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
  • Comply with WCC Environmental/Health and Safety requirements and observe all safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-3 years of related Quality experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to pass Certified Inspector Qualification in a reasonable time frame.
  • Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial and vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, and go/nogo gauges.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
