About the position

The Quality Inspector assists the Quality Supervisor by performing audits and inspections to ensure that quality standards are maintained within their area of expertise. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, documenting results, and coordinating with other inspectors to uphold safety and quality protocols in industrial construction projects, particularly in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 100% inspections on work completed within the assigned scope.
  • Inspect applicable equipment and materials for quality.
  • Document completed inspections and review with the Quality Supervisor for corrective actions.
  • Accurately document results of audits, inspections, and tests.
  • Report inspection results to the Quality Supervisor and halt unsafe work immediately.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for vendor non-conformance and workmanship issues.
  • Assist Quality Coordinators in completing inspections and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Coordinate with inspectors or technicians to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed and report unsafe conditions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in QA/QC audits for industrial construction projects.
  • Proven experience in QA/QC audits within the Wind/Solar or Renewable Energy Industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in inspection requirements in at least one discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
  • Intermediate knowledge in communication skills, relationship building, QA/QC, time management, and report writing.
  • Basic knowledge in reading math, industry standards, and inspecting physical objects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Wind/Solar or Renewable Energy Industry.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
