About the position

The Quality Inspector at Aircraft Technology, Inc. (ATI) is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of civil aviation articles and military components through thorough inspections. This role requires expertise in FAA Part 145 regulations and involves performing various types of inspections, including preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and final inspections. The inspector will also manage work orders, produce inspection reports, and ensure compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspects parts, assemblies, and finished products by contract specifications and/or legal requirements.
• Conducts critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical tests, and functional inspections on a variety of components.
• Performs complex inspection procedures requiring special set-up of equipment and interpretation of test data.
• Manages and reviews work orders while jobs are in progress, monitoring for proper sign-offs.
• Samples and tests incoming components and raw materials; tracks results.
• Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards.
• Applies approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials after evaluating analytical data.
• Produces inspection reports as appropriate or requested.
• Minimizes downtime by reducing production rework and recalls.
• Works independently and supports other team members as needed.
• Works overtime and weekends as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited school.
• At least five years of relevant experience within FAA Part 145 repair station, with at least four years in an inspector capacity.
• At least two years of experience as an inspector for engine components.
• At least two years of experience in dimensional inspection.
• Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with the liquid penetrant method(s).
• Familiarity with the radiographic inspection method(s).
