About the position

The Quality Inspector at Precision Resource is responsible for evaluating, measuring, and testing the quality of manufactured products. This role involves documenting and reporting on the status of incoming, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with the Process Control Plan. The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and addressing any non-conformance issues, contributing to the company's commitment to delivering high-quality precision metal components.

Responsibilities

  • Verify product conformance to company and customer requirements including manufacturing plans and specifications.
  • Perform inspection and testing of in-process, first-piece, last-piece, and final inspection of finished products and raw materials.
  • Interact with production operators and supervisors to troubleshoot in-process products.
  • Identify and notify production of non-conformance or process-related problems.
  • Document all inspections and tests performed using legible handwriting/printing.
  • Document non-conformances and communicate them to Quality Control (QC).
  • Maintain QC Inspection logs and ensure their accuracy.
  • Keep a neat and orderly work area and QC areas after use.
  • Collect material samples and conduct inspections and physical testing of materials.
  • Conduct re-inspections to determine acceptability of rework.
  • Record and summarize inspection and test data in the quality assurance database.
  • Have the authority to stop production if products do not meet requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 to 5 years of quality inspection experience in a metal stamping or machining manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical measuring instruments including calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Experience with advanced measurement equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Ability to conform to U.S. Government export regulations.
