Responsibilities

  • Ensures that products, components, and materials meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Operates and programs Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform precise inspections.
  • Performs receiving mechanical inspections on various parts, including piece parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
  • Accepts or rejects material based on drawing/specifications and records results on multiple forms and records.
  • Inputs inspection results data into an electronic log.
  • Compares part number and associated information of items received with Procurement Data Packing Slips and Material Certification Compliance.
  • Performs First Article and dimensional inspection and verifies results using Engineering drawings and specifications, precision measuring instruments, and devices as required.
  • Verifies plating with Production by requesting plated parts be tested before acceptance.
  • Maintains discrepant material, records problems on Rejection Reports, and enters results into SAP for Material Review Board (MRB) reviews.
  • Works with the Manufacturing Engineer on problems found during Production and relates them.
  • Interacts with Purchasing Department to review/discuss 1st Articles results.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience with quality control
  • Ability to interpret specifications including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • IPC-A-610 (PCBA visual inspection) visual certification
  • IPC-A-620 Training in Quality Inspection for Cable and Wire Assemblies
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-883 for die inspection and hybrid micro assemblies
  • Knowledge of AS9102 first article process
  • Knowledge of MRB process
  • Ability to set up, program, and operate CMM to inspect complex parts and assemblies
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent - Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and possess basic computer knowledge to perform job successfully
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and sit/stand for an extended period of time.
