About the position

The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in the Quality team, ensuring that quality requirements are met and maintained in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) according to AS9100D:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 standards. This position involves performing inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process to confirm compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection to ensure compliance with specified requirements at the receiving, in-process, and final stages of the process.
• Read instructions, drawings, specifications, or sample parts/gauges to determine compliance of dimensions and tolerances of finished work.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection on parts to confirm conformity to drawing and other routing instructions.
• Ensure applicable documentation is complete, including revision status, router sign off, test reports, and computer data entry.
• Utilize precision measuring tools such as dial and vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, and go/nogo gauges.
• Retrieve information such as bills of material, specifications, procedures, and drawings from computerized manufacturing software.
• Be responsible for entry, retrieval, and review of data from the Quality Department online databases to maintain the QMS and develop process improvements.
• Understand WCC policies, procedures, and specifications related to Safety and Quality.
• Comply with WCC Environmental/Health and Safety requirements and observe all safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 1-3 years of related Quality experience and/or training preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial and vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, and go/nogo gauges.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Inspector Qualification in a reasonable time frame.
