About the position

The Quality Lab Technician at Avery Dennison plays a vital role in ensuring that products meet high-quality standards. This position involves testing materials, analyzing data, and maintaining accurate records, all while contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. The role operates on a 12-hour rotating schedule, requiring work during nights and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests on in-process, final, and middle samples using approved technologies.
  • Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to batches.
  • Box and store samples for future reference.
  • Test and approve incoming raw materials.
  • Accurately record test results in the QTL database.
  • Print certificates of analysis (C of A) for distribution.
  • Calibrate testing instruments (pH meter, viscometers, temperature baths, etc.).
  • Handle and move testing materials, including weighing non-bulk items.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment according to standard procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Technician Certification preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related testing or quality control lab experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency with various testing equipment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and Google applications.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QTL) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
