About the position

The Quality Learning Instructional Designer is a pivotal role within the Quality organization, focusing on performance consulting and instructional design. This position requires engaging with business process owners and various functional areas to identify, design, and implement innovative learning and development programs tailored to the needs of the organization. The role encompasses directing the activities involved in the design, development, and delivery of these learning programs, ensuring they meet the high standards expected in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors. In this capacity, the Instructional Designer will act as a consultant, providing ongoing support to facilitate the effective execution of Quality functional learning processes. The application of adult learning principles is crucial to ensure the effectiveness of training initiatives. The designer will leverage industry best practices and explore opportunities for innovation in learning methodologies. This includes designing and developing complex learning solutions that address the developmental needs of Quality staff, creating engaging learning activities, and producing compelling course content that enhances the overall learning experience. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Instructional Designer will work closely with subject matter experts to assess the training needs of the target audience. They will also be responsible for creating various supporting materials, such as audio, video, simulations, role plays, and games, to enrich the learning process. Additionally, the designer will devise assessment methods, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the training courses developed. The goal is to ensure a globally consistent training experience that directly improves employee engagement and performance. The position also involves maintaining project documentation and course folders, ensuring that all materials are organized and accessible for future reference. Overall, the Quality Learning Instructional Designer plays a critical role in enhancing the learning landscape within the organization, driving both individual and organizational growth through effective training solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Instructional Designer for Quality Learning and provide ongoing support and consulting to enable Quality functional learning execution of the process.
  • Apply principles of adult learning to ensure training effectiveness.
  • Access resources on industry best demonstrated practices, as well as opportunities to innovate.
  • Design and develop complex learning solutions to support the development needs of Quality Staff.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances the learning process.
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience's business and training needs.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc).
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course.
  • Develop Learning content to ensure a globally consistent training experience that directly improves the employee experience.
  • Promote collaboration, partnership and relationships among the participants and stakeholders in a design project.
  • Consult, analyze, and develop highly engaging and interactive learning solutions.
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.

Requirements

  • 10 years Instructional design experience preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug industry
  • In depth knowledge of adult learning concepts and associated multimedia delivery options, eLearning development and tools
  • Expert in instructional design methodology for adult learning course, curriculum, and program development
  • Strong project management skills to achieve design target timelines
  • Superior consulting, and communication skills. Ability to establish relationships with diverse customers, including business owners
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Visual design skills
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
  • Experience working in an agile (SAM) and waterfall (ADDIE) design environment
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering emerging learning solutions including gamification, video, micro-learning, simulations strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's in Adult learning or Instructional Design/Technology or similar relevant field
