About the position

The Quality Management Analyst at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of healthcare services provided to the community. Under general supervision, this position serves as a content expert responsible for submitting state and federally mandated performance metrics related to quality, including Core Measures and electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs). The analyst will manage the submission portal through various platforms such as CRISP, TJC, CMS, and HSCRC, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. In addition to managing submissions, the Quality Management Analyst will provide consultation and support related to Quality Metrics and internal reporting. This includes developing and maintaining reports for various internal quality committees and boards, as well as supporting assigned departments with peer review and performance monitoring activities. The role also involves managing the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) processes, which includes data collection and reporting in accordance with Joint Commission requirements. The analyst will work closely with a dedicated quality management team focused on improving patient outcomes, utilizing their expertise to analyze data and present findings that drive quality improvement initiatives. This position is integral to the mission of UM UCH to provide high-quality care and enhance the health of the community through effective quality management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Submit state and federally mandated performance metrics related to quality, including Core Measures and eCQMs.
  • Manage the submission portal through CRISP, TJC, CMS, and HSCRC.
  • Provide consultation and support related to Quality Metrics and internal reporting.
  • Develop and maintain reports for various internal quality committees and boards.
  • Support assigned departments with peer review and performance monitoring activities.
  • Manage the OPPE/FPPE process including data collection and reporting consistent with Joint Commission requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health, science or business field required.
  • Four years of related professional experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in quality management, population health or outcomes management is required.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with various Quality Improvement programs is required.
  • Experienced in data manipulation using a variety of tools such as Excel, Access, etc. is required.
  • Experienced in EHR data extraction, analysis and presentation is preferred.
