About the position

The Quality Management Parts Driving Dynamics and Powertrain internship at BMW Manufacturing Company offers students a hands-on experience in quality analysis and management within the automotive industry. Interns will engage in practical tasks that contribute to critical quality issues, KPI management, and special projects, fostering both personal and professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis at suppliers focusing on critical rated quality issues.
  • Conduct workshops following up on FMEA, lessons learned, nominations, etc.
  • Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the USMCA region.
  • Support capacity verification topics.
  • Lead special projects related to legal identification, redundancy planning, sustainability, traceability, and significant characteristics.
  • Review, analyze, and process department KPIs.
  • Follow up on overdue deliveries.
  • Review critical quality topics and perform data analysis.
  • Follow up on measures at suppliers.
  • Assist supply chain and Quality Management Parts engineers as needed.
  • Conduct best practice analysis of the supply base.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a similar field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
  • Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
