About the position

Siemens Mobility is seeking an experienced Quality Manager in Projects (QMiP) to support project teams in ensuring compliance with processes and achieving project objectives, particularly in product quality and customer satisfaction. The role involves leading the project quality team, ensuring cross-functional cooperation, and implementing quality improvement methods throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the entire project quality team (internal/external) of the assigned organizational unit(s).
  • Ensure cross-functional cooperation with Procurement, Logistics, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and relevant suppliers to achieve quality business goals.
  • Adapt and provide a project-specific management system including project documentation, regulations, methods, and IT tools, following a risk-based approach.
  • Ensure professional non-conformance (NC) management.
  • Coach project team members in agile/lean methods or act as a SCRUM master in agile projects.
  • Implement quality improvement methods and improve process performance management (e.g. 8D, RCA, FMEA).
  • Select innovative digital solutions to improve project quality.
  • Drive lessons learned across projects.
  • Implement and improve project quality reporting as an integrated part of project reporting.
  • Contribute to project planning to ensure that project-specific, quality-relevant requirements are considered starting with the sales phase.
  • Initiate training for project employees regarding quality (e.g. methods and processes).
  • Develop, control, and ensure the implementation of a quality plan for the project derived from the existing QM system agreed upon with the organization, customer, partners, and suppliers.
  • Develop, control, and ensure the implementation and improvement of a project-specific QM system documented in the project quality plan.
  • Advise and/or conduct quality-related methodology/tools (esp. risk management, identify and conduct relevant lessons learned, Quality Gates, NC management, root cause analysis, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a highly functional team of professionals.
  • Excellently demonstrated customer interaction skills.
  • Proven track record of project launches with minimal NCCs and on-time delivery of the end product.
  • Experience in core quality tools like FMEA, Six Sigma, 5Why, 8D, Ishikawa Diagram, VSM, Process audits.
  • Data Analytics/Digitalization skills.
  • Experience in database systems.
  • Ability to work in a matrix global organization.
  • Forward-thinking, proactive mindset.
  • Flexibility to work and travel worldwide as needed (~15-20% travel).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree with ASQ or other quality certifications.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in Rail Rolling Stock.
  • Experience in Project and Lean management.
