About the position

The Quality Manager is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that all processes and products meet customer specifications and quality system requirements. This position involves championing quality initiatives, leading audits, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate feedback of customer quality ratings and on-time delivery (OTD).
  • Perform quality management reviews quarterly to promote visibility of key business metrics and associated actions, adhering to AS9100 standards.
  • Create first articles in accordance with AS9102.
  • Ensure all internal drawings and travelers meet customer specifications.
  • Ensure required documentation and traceability is sufficient for finished products.
  • Perform first article inspections and record in accordance with AS9102 and customer requirements.
  • Perform in-process and incoming material inspections as needed.
  • Maintain and manage calibration records and ensure measurement tools are calibrated prior to expiration.
  • Drive quality with a goal of zero escapes.
  • Lead AS9100 and NADCAP audits.
  • Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for internal nonconformities and customer returns.
  • Develop a training plan and train employees specific to quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Minimum of three years in an aerospace quality or engineering role.
  • Highly proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (G.D.T.) and interpreting drawings.
  • Prior experience leading AS9100 and NADCAP audits is a plus.
  • Full knowledge of aerospace quality standard AS9100.
  • NADCAP experience specific to paint, chem film, and other plating processes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dip brazing is a plus.
  • Experience leading and managing New Product Introduction (N.P.I.) is a plus.
  • Experience in making conformity decisions in an aerospace environment.
  • Working knowledge of calibration control practices.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools; CMM experience is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize software tools such as Excel, Word, and custom business ERP systems.
  • Must be able to work independently and in group settings.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related aerospace degree; a Master's degree is a plus.
