About the position

As the Quality Manager, you will lead the Quality department, overseeing all internal and external inspections and documentation. Your role includes maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring ISO9001 certification, and facilitating third-party audits. You will also handle certification document submissions to customers and perform CMM Technician responsibilities as a working manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Implement and maintain ISO9001 certification
  • Manage systems-based tasks such as NCR's, Corrective Actions, PPAP submissions, etc.
  • Create inspection plans for manufactured parts within ProShop
  • Conduct in-process inspections including incoming vendor supplied parts and production parts
  • Program, set-up, and run Mitutoyo CRYSTA-Apex V 9106 CMM
  • Resolve product quality issues with customers and vendors in a timely manner
  • Lead internal audits to confirm conformance and to enforce adherence and understanding
  • Train current and new associates on quality procedures, metrology usage, and CMM operation
  • Develop and maintain training curriculum
  • Track quality metrics
  • Manage calibration programs and maintain the quality lab
  • Attain operational proficiency with current systems within the first 8 months
  • Manage Quality team to meet the quality standards of the organization
  • Work closely with others across multi-disciplined teams

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing experience in a fast pace machining environment
  • 2.5+ years of experience in a quality role in a manufacturing setting
  • Programmable CMM experience preferred
  • Previous blue print reading experience
  • Experience in using micrometers, tri-mics, thread gages, indicators, height stands, v-blocks, 1-2-3 blocks, and gage blocks and other inspection equipment to check part specs
  • GD&T experience
  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work with little or no supervision in a fast paced multi-task environment
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (to include Word, Excel, and Outlook)
