About the position

The Quality Manager at Rinnai America Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products in the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for creating, implementing, and executing the Quality Management and Control System, which includes overseeing supplier product quality, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions. The Quality Manager will work closely with management to address customer complaints and drive product improvement initiatives, all while adhering to the corporate mission of "Quality is our Destiny."

Responsibilities

  • Development and operation of quality control systems in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Application and operation of quality inspection tools and procedures.
  • Develop and implement layered audit process for all operations processes.
  • Implement audit plan for finished assemblies.
  • Working with management to review customer complaints, determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Use good problem-solving skills to determine root cause of failures and drive product improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in the development and oversight of product acceptance criteria.
  • Develops and controls receiving inspection processes for purchased components.
  • Development of quality control plans which include the identification of critical control points, preventive measures, monitoring procedures and verification procedures.
  • Facilitate and maintain FMEA's for Rinnai developed products.
  • Leads ISO9000 quality system and planning activities for Operations.
  • Leads Operations Document Control.
  • Manage non-nettable material storage locations.
  • Conducting supplier quality audits.
  • Auditing supplier quality control systems.
  • Reviewing supplier control and development plans.
  • PPAP review and approval.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent quality work experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in the fields of Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9000 or TS16949.
  • Internal ISO auditor process experience.
  • Familiarity with inspection techniques and tools.
  • Understanding of statistical process control.
  • Experience in manufacturing/assembly environments and procedures.
  • Understanding of component prints.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and statistical software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of management and planning tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral skills.
