About the position

The Quality Supervisor at Flex-N-Gate is responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's quality system, ensuring that products meet or exceed customer and plant requirements. This role involves working closely with employees, suppliers, and customers to enhance product quality and performance through various audits and quality control processes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison with internal and external parties on matters relating to the quality system.
  • Oversee hourly floor inspectors/process auditors to ensure they are properly trained and qualified regarding the products being inspected.
  • Address customer needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Manage production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing, assembly, and distribution of goods.
  • Approve hourly associates' hours and maintain daily attendance records.
  • Ensure process auditors are staffed, trained, and performing duties as outlined in their work instructions.
  • Support manufacturing in developing job instructions and train quality associates on quality-related procedures.
  • Make decisions regarding the disposition of non-conforming material and ensure proper containment and follow-up is conducted.
  • Support the PPAP process by helping develop Process Flows, PFMEA, and control plans with teams.
  • Train, develop, evaluate, promote, and discipline subordinate personnel.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and follow-up of Corrective Action Plans as quality issues arise.
  • Cultivate and expand positive employee morale.
  • Ensure production is generating quality products to specifications.
  • Document all activities as required.
  • Provide support and maintain compliance with company guidelines, union contracts, TS16949, ISO14001, and applicable government regulations and standards.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in a manufacturing facility with a background in quality management.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office and statistical software.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Supervisory and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Troubleshooting ability and strong decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated good internal customer service skills and good presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with quality management systems and standards such as TS16949 and ISO14001.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality control tools.
