About the position

Hatch Stamping Company is seeking a highly driven Quality Manager responsible for establishing a quality assurance system that enhances customer satisfaction and positively impacts the company's financial performance. The role involves direct interaction with customers to address issues, implementing quality improvement activities, and educating employees on their roles in the quality management system.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, manage and integrate a Quality Management System (QMS) for manufacturing plants.
  • Support team members to ensure the production floor is fully supported regarding its quality needs.
  • Serve as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and implement metrics for monitoring system effectiveness and enabling sound product quality decisions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends affecting product quality improvement.
  • Analyze customers' product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop process certification standards and assist in process certification.
  • Maintain Layered Audit Processes and lead third-party customer audits.
  • Interact with customers to identify opportunities for quality improvement and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
  • Report to Corporate Management on quality issues, trends, and losses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • ASQC certification.
  • 5-7 years of experience in QA systems implementation and management, with five years as a quality manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in design/prototype manufacturing and automotive industry.
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Experience in designing and implementing quality systems.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong computer skills including quality control applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
