About The Position

The Quality Measurement Data Manager is responsible for overseeing chart abstraction and data capture related to various external quality reporting requirements. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes by analyzing data from patient records and identifying opportunities for improvement. The manager will work closely with clinical staff and IT to ensure accurate data capture and compliance with quality reporting standards.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse, physician assistant, or other clinical care provider with three or more years of nursing or clinical experience, or Licensed Practical Nurse with five or more years of experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse healthcare workers.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records.
  • Basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or advanced clinical education.
  • Five or more years of surgical clinical experience.
  • Experience in clinical chart review and abstraction.
  • Prior experience with healthcare quality reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in presenting information to various audiences.
  • Experience in collaborative design of electronic health record components.
  • Intermediate experience with Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze new and revised specifications for assigned quality registries including CMS/TJC measure sets and NYS registries.
  • Educate relevant staff on reporting requirements and their impact on workflow.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify missing registry data elements in the health record.
  • Manage collaborative projects with IT and clinical staff to develop data capture mechanisms.
  • Conduct hybrid medical record reviews and validation for quality reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy of data captured for measure sets and registries.
  • Provide guidance to clinical staff on variances with guidelines.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and perform additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve organizational quality goals.
