About the position

The Quality Operations Specialist is a vital role at Empower Pharmacy, dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in manufacturing operations. This position supports the mission of delivering innovative and affordable medications by overseeing product sterility, batch documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Specialist ensures that all products meet rigorous quality standards and plays a key role in continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure product sterility by monitoring personnel for proper aseptic behavior.
  • Halt operations and quarantine products when necessary to protect quality and safety.
  • Monitor and inspect processes to ensure product safety and quality.
  • Establish effective working relationships with manufacturing personnel.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to manufacturing employees.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Assist with investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Review GMP batch records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct rounds in Operations areas to verify cleaning solutions and components.
  • Coordinate corrections in documentation following good practices.
  • Verify cleanroom layout consistency with monitoring performance qualifications.
  • Review cleaning logs and critical manufacturing process steps.
  • Perform acceptable quality limit inspections as required.
  • Act as backup for Environmental Monitoring Technician when necessary.
  • Analyze data to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance activities.
  • Assist in developing quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in a science-related discipline or four years of directly related experience.
  • Knowledge of aseptic operations and state/federal regulations.
  • Experience in sterile and nonsterile manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PharmaKnowledge Software for batch records.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
