About the position

The Quality Ops Coordinator at Envirodyne Labs, Inc. is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality management systems and overseeing quality control procedures within the laboratory. This role involves collaborating with management to implement necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting audits, and promoting continuous improvement to enhance lab efficiency and service delivery. The coordinator will also manage field scheduling and compliance, ensuring timely sample collection and adherence to quality policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the lab's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Assist in documenting the annual demonstration of capabilities training for laboratory and field personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee routes, schedules, and supplies for field representatives.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and resolve route issues encountered by field representatives and clients.
  • Perform calibrations of thermometers, IR thermometers, client thermometers, and pipettes as required.
  • Review quality control data and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken for any deviations.
  • Advise management of any matters that may adversely impact lab data.
  • Responsible for annual lab equipment calibration and maintenance checks.
  • Perform administrative functions as needed in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Ensure samples are received at the lab in a timely manner.
  • Confer with management on matters affecting sample collection and pick-up.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and adherence to quality policies throughout the lab.
  • Ensure that all quality documentation is organized and accessible for audits or internal reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality-related activities, including audits, corrective actions, and proficiency testing results.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager or Lab Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with experience in quality management systems or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of TNI and EPA regulations is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Wastewater and Drinking Water Operations is preferred; a license in either is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Proficiency with WorkWave Route Manager or similar software is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in quality management tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Wastewater and Drinking Water Operations is preferred; a license in either is a plus.
  • Proficiency with WorkWave Route Manager or similar software is preferred.
