As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. You will be responsible to drive quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability, discipline, and attention to detail at all levels. You must have a passion for solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety of applications and systems. We are looking for an individual that can support the quality initiatives around flight hardware and engine production. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities

  • Process monitoring & support defect reduction initiatives
  • Provide assistance to other team members in the use of quality procedures and/or tools
  • Conduct process health assessments and internal audits for compliance with industry standards and provide ongoing objective evaluations of processes and documentation
  • Conduct follow-up and compliance audits to ensure process improvement and corrective / preventive action implementation and effectiveness
  • Document First Article Inspection Reports for internally produced hardware
  • Assist with standardization & continuous improvement
  • Provide block resolution for production work centers
  • Perform Visual & Dimensional Inspections

Requirements

  • 5+ years' industry experience in an aviation/aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong GD&T skills
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Experience performing visual & dimensional inspections
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant experience in a start-up environment, transitioning a product from development, through production to operations
  • Relevant experience in AS9145, Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process
  • Quality Management System audit experience
  • Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing
  • Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities (SPC)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
