About the position

The Quality Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of the Quality Department within a new start-up Joint Venture Seating JIT Assembly plant located in Detroit, Michigan. This position is integral to Magna's mission of developing innovative seating solutions for the automotive, heavy truck, and bus industries. The Quality Supervisor will provide guidance, instruction, leadership, and motivation to the Quality staff, overseeing daily activities, tasks, assignments, and addressing any arising problems. This role requires a detail-oriented approach and the ability to think critically, as the supervisor will be responsible for reviewing Quality policies and procedures, implementing necessary changes, and researching continuous improvement strategies. In addition to managing the Quality team, the Quality Supervisor will support and adhere to the company's principles, known as the 5 C's: Care, Commit, Connect, Communicate, and Celebrate. This involves taking ownership of the department's objectives and communicating them positively and supportively to foster a collaborative work environment. The Quality Supervisor will also engage in cross-functional collaboration to solve problems and enhance the overall quality of the products being manufactured. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring that the seating solutions developed meet consumer expectations for comfort, convenience, and connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and leadership to Quality staff on daily activities and tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a quality supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the automotive industry or related fields.
