About the position

The Quality Supervisor at Clasen Quality Chocolate is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing quality systems and programs to ensure food safety and product quality in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role involves supervising quality technicians, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring production practices and fostering a culture of food safety within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, develop, implement, and execute continuous improvement upgrades to the quality systems and programs.
  • Actively monitor the production floor for compliance to quality systems and programs.
  • Participate in Facility Food Safety Team Meetings and may lead meetings.
  • Conduct internal Quality and Food Safety training and act as a resource for facility/employee questions.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
  • Conduct internal audits (Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP's], Sanitation, etc.).
  • Control non-conforming materials according to company policy.
  • Interact with ingredient suppliers and service providers as needed.
  • Coordinate collection of product samples and equipment/environmental swabs.
  • Review, sign, and maintain Food Safety CCP documents and other production/quality related documents.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning, and directing work, coaching, and appraising performance.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis for customer shipments.
  • Act as back-up to Quality Superintendent and Quality Technicians during absences.
  • Support RC Cartage new employee training, EMP program, and investigations as needed.
  • Travel to other CQC facilities, training, vendors, and/or customers.
  • Lead and support a food safety culture within the site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a Science Based field (Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, or similar).
  • Minimum 5 years of quality-related experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SQF, HACCP, and recall in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to complete HACCP, PCQI, Internal Auditing, SQF and other food safety related training.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety (FSMA), Federal, State, Local regulations preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
