About the position

The Quality Assurance position at Smurfit Westrock is crucial for maintaining the high standards of quality that the company is known for. This role involves performing quality functions to ensure that products meet the quality standards set by both WestRock and its customers. The individual in this position will be responsible for following general safety protocols and compliance with all workplace rules, policies, and procedures, including those related to Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and other safety regulations. In this role, the employee will work directly with production teams, quality technicians, and the Customer Service Department. Key responsibilities include pulling, mailing, and filing samples, as well as conducting quality tests to ensure the consistency of incoming materials and the testing of all required production outputs. The position also requires coordination with Quality Auditors to manage customer shipments effectively. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to meet the business's evolving needs. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a general understanding of manufacturing processes and be able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential, as the role demands a keen focus on accuracy in all tasks performed. The position also requires the use of protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, earplugs, cut-resistant gloves, and hairnets or beard nets when necessary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • General understanding of manufacturing and its processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both in written and verbal forms.
  • Knowledge of Windows-based software.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen focus on accuracy and organization.
