Repair and Maintenance

About the position

The Quality Technical Coach is responsible for mentoring and coaching repair technicians, estimators, and management to ensure adherence to Caliber's quality standards and OEM specifications. This role involves using Verifacts software for reporting, conducting facility inspections, and recommending necessary training and improvements to enhance operational performance across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor repair technicians, estimators, and management to ensure adherence to Caliber's quality standards.
  • Utilize Verifacts software to file reports on repair accuracy to OE standards.
  • Conduct follow-ups with center teammates regarding repairs through in-person meetings or conference calls.
  • Review reports with Center and Operations Leadership for accountability and management of Parts, Systems, Equipment, and Training verification.
  • Recommend and coordinate necessary training based on quality reviews.
  • Train ICAR courses to support local and regional needs.
  • Build alliances and perform liaison activities with the executive team and field leadership.
  • Complete facility inspections and submit reports using Verifacts software.
  • Take and submit photos of shop tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Recommend repair or replacement of tools, equipment, and materials as necessary.
  • Maintain a reporting structure to monitor performance indicators and Certification eligibility.
  • Create actionable plans to improve processes and procedures with metrics of success and deliverables.
  • Align top-down vision, goals, and objectives from business strategy to center objectives.
  • Optimize center performance to achieve the best functional, production, and technical value.
  • Measure ongoing performance assessment and apply knowledge for success.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under company insurance policy.
  • Maintain or acquire ICAR Trainer certification.
  • 5 plus years' experience as a collision repair tech and/or insurance estimator or adjuster.
  • ASE, I-CAR and/or other industry certifications preferred (Pro-Level 3).
  • Working knowledge of CCC One, Estimating Systems, and Excel.
  • Significant daily travel to visit any center throughout the company.
  • Maintain a minimum standard of continuing education annually to stay updated on industry and coaching best practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills, with good time management and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to understand workflows and navigate and submit reports using an iPad.
