About the position

The QA technician is responsible for ensuring that products, services, or systems meet the organization's established quality standards. This role involves reviewing processes, testing products, identifying defects, and suggesting improvements. QA technicians work closely with production teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to guarantee that output consistently aligns with customer expectations and regulatory requirements. A day in the life of a QA technician includes providing factory floor support on matters involving product and process quality. The technician participates in corrective and preventative actions associated with manufacturing-related issues and utilizes SAP to locate products in stock and place them on hold when necessary. They perform in-process product audits as defined by the Quality Engineer (QE) and conduct final product audits and inspections. Effective communication is essential, as the technician must communicate with engineers and management, review quality records from production, and ensure that materials are identified properly. Other activities may be assigned by the QE, and the technician is responsible for collecting and reporting results of their activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide factory floor support on matters involving product and process quality.
  • Participate in corrective and preventative actions associated with manufacturing-related issues.
  • Utilize SAP to locate product in stock and place on hold when necessary.
  • Perform in-process product audits as defined by the QE.
  • Conduct final product audits and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively using email and other tools.
  • Review quality records from production and save electronically when needed.
  • Ensure material is identified properly.
  • Collect and report results of quality activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively work in an empowered environment remote from immediate management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and SAP.
  • Problem-solving expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineering regarding calibration and inspection technical matters.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to write procedures, work instructions, and visual aids.
  • Ability to interpret product and component prints.
  • Working knowledge of SPC tools and analysis techniques.
  • Working knowledge of quality-related operational processes and instrumentation.
