The QA technician is responsible for ensuring that products, services, or systems meet the organization's established quality standards. This role involves reviewing processes, testing products, identifying defects, and suggesting improvements. QA technicians work closely with production teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to guarantee that output consistently aligns with customer expectations and regulatory requirements. A day in the life of a QA technician includes providing factory floor support on matters involving product and process quality. The technician participates in corrective and preventative actions associated with manufacturing-related issues and utilizes SAP to locate products in stock and place them on hold when necessary. They perform in-process product audits as defined by the Quality Engineer (QE) and conduct final product audits and inspections. Effective communication is essential, as the technician must communicate with engineers and management, review quality records from production, and ensure that materials are identified properly. Other activities may be assigned by the QE, and the technician is responsible for collecting and reporting results of their activities.
