About the position

The Temporary Quality Technician at Staubli Electrical Connectors, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Quality Assurance Manager by coordinating daily quality control activities. This position involves inspecting components and products, preparing inspection plans, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The technician will also assist in troubleshooting quality issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of components received from suppliers and products manufactured in-house to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Prepare inspection plans for incoming inspections and manufacturing, along with necessary quality records and documentation.
  • Provide quality control support to manufacturing and participate in troubleshooting quality issues.
  • Interface with engineering and operations to set up inspection plans for new products, including new inspection equipment and fixture requirements.
  • Complete documentation necessary for inspection or testing, including inventory forms and equipment logbooks.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, validated, and maintained properly, ensuring safety during operation.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for process-related concerns and customer complaints.
  • Participate in the internal audit program to monitor adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Engage in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods.
  • Work with the ERP system (SAP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of related experience in quality control or assurance.
  • Ability to read detail drawings and understand GD&T concepts and symbols.
  • Experience operating inspection tools and equipment, including automated equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
  • Good mathematical skills for basic calculations such as ratios, percentages, and rates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Metrology knowledge.
  • Experience with CMM/VMM equipment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and manufacturing quality tools.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods and processes, including injection molding and machining.
  • Ability to operate electronic measuring equipment.
