About the position

The Quality Technician position is focused on ensuring the quality and compliance of Advanced Optics parts and materials within a manufacturing environment. The role involves reviewing product and material documentation, liaising between the plant and key stakeholders, and supporting safety programs to maintain a safe working environment. The technician will report directly to a Quality Supervisor and will be responsible for monitoring quality metrics and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensures adequacy of product Quality and compliance to requirements.
• Dispositions production events related to part and material non-conformances.
• Monitors metrics consistent with job responsibilities.
• Supports Plant Safety programs to provide a safe working environment.
• Achieves applicable department requirements for safety, quality and cost.
• Identifies root-cause and how to improve issues at hand.
• Drives simplification and continuous improvement.
• Performs administrative work for production events in the system, ensuring they are progressing and completing the production event process.

Requirements

• Two year (Associates) degree with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment OR a high school diploma with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Flexibility to multitask and prioritize work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous Quality Control experience in a manufacturing or technical function.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.
• Experience with procedure and work instruction interpretation.
