About the position

The Quality Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and supporting the complete life cycle of a Data Warehouse product, focusing on ETL testing and data quality validation. This role requires extensive experience in software product development, data testing, and cloud technologies, particularly in a retail industry context. The engineer will work closely with project teams to ensure the integrity and quality of data through various testing methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the complete life cycle of the Data Warehouse product including requirement analysis, test estimation, test planning, design test cases, and execution of test cases.
  • Support Extract, Transform, Load (ETL/ELT) processes and environments.
  • Conduct data testing, data conversion, data migration, data transformations, data profiling, data analysis, and data quality validation.
  • Test ETL mappings to extract data from multiple sources into target tables using various transformations.
  • Design and implement end-to-end data testing strategies and develop data testing automation frameworks.
  • Perform end-to-end product feature testing and business report testing, including designing, testing, and troubleshooting data and reports.
  • Interact with project teams to recommend solutions for data issues and manage the defect life cycle.
  • Mentor and groom team members on product/application features and functionality.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software product development and delivery experience.
  • 5+ years of ETL testing/SQL experience.
  • 3+ years of Informatica Power Center, IDQ, IICS/IDMC experience.
  • 3+ years experience overseeing the development of data test plans, test scenarios, test cases, execution of test case and documentation of test results.
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure Cloud tools: ADF, Pyspark, Databricks notebooks.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python and libraries like Pandas, Numpy & Matplotlib.
  • Ability to interpret and draw System & Architecture diagrams.
  • Experience in summarizing large metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with latest cloud technologies.
  • Good understanding of Agile methodology.
  • Working knowledge of test management tools like HP ALM, Jira, Qmetry.
