About the position

The Model Risk Quant Analytics Manager is responsible for leading the validation and review of high-impact models related to fraud, identity authentication, and anomaly detection. This role involves leveraging industry expertise to evaluate model suitability, employing advanced analytics and machine learning techniques, and overseeing critical projects while mentoring junior validators. The position requires strong technical skills in model development and validation, as well as effective communication and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Complete in-depth technical validations and reviews of models in fraud and identity authentication.
  • Evaluate model suitability and leverage best practices for model use.
  • Employ advanced analytics and machine learning approaches for model design and performance assessment.
  • Review and challenge the conceptual framework and technical soundness of high-impact models.
  • Verify correct model implementation through version control software review.
  • Oversee critical projects on high-impact models and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior model validators on best practices.
  • Produce robust documentation of validation testing and results.

Requirements

  • PhD/Master's in computer science, mathematics, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, finance, economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of model development or validation experience in financial crimes and fraud applications.
  • 7+ years of model development or validation experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, R, Matlab, or other programming languages.
  • Advanced knowledge of data science, machine learning, statistics, and AI theory and applications.
  • Preferred experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Preferred experience with modern data pipelining practices and tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
  • Mentoring experience of junior staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in productionizing machine learning development and monitoring.
  • Experience in developing CECL models.
